Domestic Services

  Post PNG provides a variety of domestic postal services.
 

Non-Prioritised Mail

The most common and cheapest means of sending your unrecorded mail is through the use of the Non-Prioritized Mail Service. Non-Priority mail are coursed through our normal delivery channels. We have categorized these as letters, postcards (mail matters wholly or partly in writing or which area sealed against inspection); Second class for newspapers and publications duly registered as such; Printed Matter, Small Packets, and Books & Pamphlets.

Service Standards

Your Mail is delivered within 1 day if it is to be delivered in the locality of the posting office, and within 3 days, if intended to be delivered within PNG and other countries.

Registered Mail

If you want your mail to be recorded from acceptance at the counter to delivery to the addressee, you may use the Registered Mail Service. Your Registered Mail is accorded special security and the entire mail process is recorded. And, if you require proof of delivery, you may attach an Acknowledgment of Receipt Advise, which we will ask the addressee to acknowledge as evidence that your mail has been received.

Express Mail Service

If you are sending urgent messages, business documents and other time sensitive items, we suggest that you use our Express Mail Service.

Your Express Mail is recorded from acceptance to delivery to the addressee. Generally, your Express Mail is delivered within the following day from the date of mailing provided they are posted on or before the prescribed cut-off time.

For remote towns, delivery usually on the second day. Currently, this service is available in all Post Offices and Courier & Freight Centres nationwide.

Kwik Piksa Leta

If you want your messages to be transmitted in a matter of seconds or minutes, you may use our Public Facsimile Service. This is an electronic mail service which provides the fastest means of transmitting written messages or documents. You can send your messages from the Post Office directly to an addressee with a Fax Machine; from the Post Office to a destination Post Office for delivery to the addressee; or from the Post Office to a destination Post Office for pick-up by the addressee with a fixed charge. This service is available in all Post Offices nationwide.

Business Reply Post

If you are into Direct Marketing, Surveys or even Market Sampling and you want immediate responses, we suggest you use our Business reply Service. You can send Business Reply Cards or Envelops to parties within the country and the same will be returned by mail to the sender whose name appears on the card or envelopes as the addressee without prepayment of postage. Persons or business firms desiring to use this service may file their written application with the manager of any Post Office. The application shall indicate the Post Office where the cards or envelopes are to be returned and a pledge that the postage and other charges, if any, shall be paid at the time of delivery. This service is available in all Post Offices and some selected agency Post Offices nationwide.

Other Financial Services

Post PNG provides a wide range of financial services including agency banking service for withdrawals and deposits, and insurance payment for different insurance companies. These services provide Papua New Guineans with a wide range of accessible and easy-to-use financial services.

Insured Mail Service

If you are sending anything valuable and you want to insure it against loss or damage, you may use our Insured Mail Service. Under this service, your mail is registered and covered by insurance up to a maximum indemnity subject to the following conditions. Your mail should be enclosed in a strong wrapper securely fastened and sealed with wax bearing a private mark. The postage charges and Insurance Fee should be prepaid.

Salim Moni Kwik

If you need to send money to anybody within the country, the most convenient and safest means to do so is through our electronic Money Transfer Service. You can transfer your money from any of our official and agency Post Offices nationwide.

Private Letter Box Service

If you require personalized handling of your mail matters which you can conveniently pick-up anytime, we recommend that you rent a Post Office Box. This service provides special handling and security of mail and it affords utmost confidentiality for Box holders. Our Boxes come in three (3) different sizes; Small, Medium and Large. This service is available in all Post Offices and agency Post Offices nationwide.

Domestic Parcel Service

Your mailable items such as articles of merchandise, non-perishable foodstuffs, handicrafts and others, except letters, may be sent either by Surface or Air Parcel, subject to certain limitations in size and weight. This service is available in all Post Offices nationwide.
