Post PNG Ltd is partnering with other organizations and its stake holders in taking initiatives to help promote and make community awareness on issues that affects communities. This is done through designing of stamps that features special events and commemorations.

Below are the partners and events that we involve in;

** NEW ** THE 2008 WORLD AIDS DAY PAINTING COMPETITION

To help raise awareness on HIV & AIDS Post PNG is running the 2008 World AIDS Day Painting Competition in partnership with the Business Coalition Against HIV & AIDS (BAHA) and the National AIDS Council Secretariat.

The competition targets major nationally recognized artists and students from recognized learning institutions around the country. It will be launched on 16th June 2008 to run for two months and ends on 15th August 2008.

Winning entries will be featured on postage stamps. Stamps evolving from the competition will be issued on December 1st 2008 coinciding with activities and events commemorating the World AIDS Day.

THE 2006 NATIONAL STAMPS DESIGN COMPETITION

Featured in this competition are three specific themes selected from each of these organisations: - Papua New Guinea National Health Department, Papua New Guinea National Education Department and the Papua New Guinea National Law and Justice Secretariat.

POST PNG AND WORLD WILD FUND-PNG

Post PNG and WWF-PNG joined forces to save endangered turtles. This is to raise community awareness and promote turtle conservation in PNG to help protect the rapid diminishing turtle populations. The six new stamps launched on 14th August, 2006, features PNG’s marine turtles, which although protected under number of international treaties continue to decline rapidly in numbers.

The release of the stamps also celebrates the signing of a tri-national Partnership on 29 August 2006 between the governments of Indonesia, PNG and Solomon Islands for conservation and management of the leatherback turtle.

YUMI LUKAUTIM MORESBY (YLM) PROJECT

Post PNG and YLM Project (Yumi Lukautim Mosbi) and radio station PNG FM

This will be done under an awareness campaign involving the distribution of full gloss Post Cards in all post offices throughout the country. The post cards will get up to 10 YLM messages to the country. There will be about 100 000 post cards that will carry awareness messages promoted by YLM Project – National Capital District Commission on one side and music request form on the other side. People from all over the country will pick up this cards, take them home, fill up the music request forms and send them to PNG FM. Post PNG  is allowing discounts on postage for these cards while the radio stations will play the songs and will promote the various themes on the Post Cards carried in the campaign.
